Terms and conditions

The rules for nominating, voting and taking part in the Business Hospitality & Excellence Awards.

These terms apply to the Business Hospitality & Excellence Awards run by MCP Events Limited (“we”, “us”), trading as Master Chef Promotions.

1. Eligibility

  1. The awards are open to restaurants, cafés, hotels, caterers and other food and hospitality businesses, and to individuals in the industry, who meet the criteria for the category.
  2. Where a category asks for it, businesses must hold a food hygiene rating of 4 stars or more and have been trading for at least two years (except Newcomer of the Year).
  3. Employees of the organisers, sponsors and judges cannot enter.

2. Nominations

  1. Nominations must be made through this website or another channel we name.
  2. Nominators must give accurate information. We may ask the nominee for supporting material, such as a profile, photos, video and links to reviews.
  3. We review every nomination and may decline, merge or correct entries, for example where the same business is nominated more than once.

3. Public voting

  1. Each person may vote once per category, using their own name and email address. Votes made with temporary, made-up or someone else’s email addresses, or by automated means, are not allowed.
  2. We check votes for unusual patterns and may remove votes we believe were not made fairly, without notice.
  3. The public vote decides the finalists in each category. Vote counts are not published.

4. Judging

  1. A panel of judges chooses the winners from the finalists, based on criteria such as food quality, service, ambience and value.
  2. The judges’ decisions are final.

5. Prizes and recognition

  1. Winners are announced at the gala dinner. Attending the gala requires a ticket or table. Winners who do not attend will have their award posted to them.
  2. Winners may be asked to take part in promotional activity.

6. Tickets

  1. Tickets and tables are confirmed once payment has been received.
  2. Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by us, in which case we will refund the price paid.

7. Use of entries

  1. Entrants keep ownership of their materials, such as images and menus.
  2. By taking part, nominees allow us to use their name, logo and supplied materials to promote the awards.

8. Liability

  1. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from taking part in the awards, except where the law does not allow us to limit our liability.
  2. We may change, suspend or cancel the awards if circumstances require it.

9. General

  1. We may update these terms. The version on this page applies.
  2. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
